Vingerlose Handskoene

Liewe Sussie,

Hier stuur ek vir jou die resep vir die vingerlose handskoene: jammer dis op Ingels, ek het nie lus om dit te vertaal nie!
Daar is een patron vir grootmense en een vir kinders. Lekker brei!

Very Simple Fingerless Gloves  (adult size)

8 ply (DK) yarn  and 4mm (no 8) needles

Cast on 46 stitches, leaving a tail of wool for the sewing up.

Rib K2, P2 for 12 cm

(This is about 30 rows, depending on the thickness of the wool: some 8ply is thicker than others)

The next 4cms (about 12 rows, dep on thickness of wool) start and end each row with K3. This will make an edging to the thumb hole.

Do another  4cm in the k2,p2 rib, then cast off in rib, leaving a length of wool for sewing up.

Fold in half lengthwise and sew up side seam from the top and the bottom, leaving the edged 4cms open for the thumb.

Child Size

8 ply (DK) yarn  and 4mm (no 8) needles

Cast on 36 stitches, leaving a tail of wool for the sewing up.

Rib K2, P2 for 8 cm

(This is about 20 rows, depending on the thickness of the wool: some 8ply is thicker than others)

The next 3.5cms (about 10 rows, dep on thickness of wool) start and end each row with K3. This will make an edging to the thumb hole.

Do another 8 or 10 rows in the k2,p2 rib, (depending on size of child's hand and how far up the knuckles you want the mitten) then cast off in rib, leaving a length of wool for sewing up.

Fold in half lengthwise and sew up side seam from the top and the bottom, leaving the edged 4cms open for the thumb.
